Factions

Section 2-501's story isn't an easy one to tell. It's not a simple story at all in the first place. There are intricate fantasies, strange conspiracies, questionable moralities, the complicated ways of politics, and maybe a coffee shop here or there that donates to or interferes with the expansion of 2-501. Some are government organizations, including Section 2-501 itself and the United States powers that run it. Some are world spanning corporations that only wish to see it grow. But there are a number of others that may have passive influences or hostile intentions. All are listed below for your perusal.

The Lindus Academy Schools of Combat

The Schools of Lindus Academy, founded secretly by the ITO in 1976 but now growing in global prominence, is a collection of schools scattered across the world. It trains students ranging from children to adults in many optional courses, as well as mandatory school courses like math and English (albiet at a much faster rate than normal school), but its primary course, which all of its students are trained in, is combat. Those who graduate from Lindus Academy with combat training are better-accepted into law enforcement and armed forces than any other school. Lindus Academy offers many courses, including tactics, weapon operation, and law enforcement in countries around the world. Many of the 20th century's most revered officers graduated from Lindus Academy.

There are multiple schools throughout the world, and people registering for Lindus Academy goes through each school in a specific sequence. Often it takes at least 12 years to graduate from Lindus Academy's full spectrum of schools, however there are some who have done it at exponentially faster rates.

Unline any normal school, Lindus Academy works with a "do it at your own pace" philosophy in mind; there is no set time limit for the curriculum. The way this works is that each student is given a tablet computer in which all of their assignments are stored. A homebrew program designed specifically for Lindus students exists on the PC, which students use to open up and complete their homework assignments. They do each in a sequencial order, and are unable to download their next assignment until their first has been completed. There are a multitude of teachers that can be contacted via the tablet PC that specialize in the course specified if the student ever requests help. Students are only allowed to work on their homework inside their room, and an advanced anti-cheat program makes sure they do not find ways to work around the system.

The Lindus Academy for Cadets

The first and most prominent school is the Lindus Academy for Cadets in Cairo, Egypt. Basically the Elementary School of Lindus Academies, children are enrolled into this school on their way to becoming combat trained. The curriculum stays the same, but each child is allowed to progress through it at whatever pace they wish; the average time it takes to graduate is approximately four years.

As of July 14, 2003, The Lindus Academy for Cadets is home to 82 male students and 63 female students. At the moment, the oldest student is 11 years old, and the youngest is 7. The record breaking graduation was made in January 2002 by Mina Thompson, who graduated in eleven months at the age of 8

The Intermediate Lindus Academy

The second school is the Intermediate Lindus Academy, in Seattle, Washington. Usually filled with ecscastic teenagers, the Intermediate Lindus Academy is the most romp-filled campus in the line. Much harder courses are studied here, and combat is ramped up, but there is much social interaction in between classes. Normally, it takes three years to graduate from Intermediate.

As of July 14, 2003, the Intermediate Lindus Academy is home to 74 male students and 52 female students. At the moment, the oldest student is 16 years old, and the youngest is 10. The record-breaking graduation was made in August 2002 by Mina Thompson, who graduated in seven months at the age of 9.

The Lindus Academy of Excellence

The Lindus Academy of Excellence, in Chicago, Illinois, is the last school on the required curriculum. Teenagers and adults alike join the ranks of this school, as well as the more skilled preteenagers. This school pressures its students to an unbelievably difficult fault, testing their limitations and stamina. This is also the final stop for many students; upon finishing the course offered at Excellence, they graduate and move into the world. The average duration of training here lasts six years.

As of July 14, 2003, the Lindus Academy of Excellence is home to 102 male students and 70 female students. At the moment, the oldest student is 24 years old, and the youngest is 10. The record-breaking graduation was made in September 1995 by Douglas Nguyen, who graduated in fourteen months at the age of 15.

The Lindus Academy of Special Operations

Another school in Trier, Germany, titled the Lindus Academy of Special Operations, exists as well. However, after the experience that was The Lindus Academy of Excellence, few actually decide to go here, as it's not on the required Lindus Academy curriculum. The Special Operations school puts its students through the most physical and tactical tests, however most students don't exactly have a hard time with it when they go at the average pace, which is usually two years. There is a deal to learn at Special Operations, and what a student does learn may or may not redefine the student's chances of attaining a high position or an important job.

As of July 14, 2003, the Lindus Academy of Special Operations is home to 14 male students and 17 female students. At the moment, the oldest student is 28 years old, and the youngest is 17. The record-breaking graduation was made in September 1995 by Charlene Kelson, who graduated in ten months at the age of 21.
