Factions

Section 2-501's story isn't an easy one to tell. It's not a simple story at all in the first place. There are intricate fantasies, strange conspiracies, questionable moralities, the complicated ways of politics, and maybe a coffee shop here or there that donates to or interferes with the expansion of 2-501. Some are government organizations, including Section 2-501 itself and the United States powers that run it. Some are world spanning corporations that only wish to see it grow. But there are a number of others that may have passive influences or hostile intentions. All are listed below for your perusal.

The International Trade Organization (ITO)

An international capitalist corporation, currently led by Duke Westfall and founded in 1967 by Carl Tenden. The ITO's primary function is to boost economic development, and it does so through ownership of popular corporations. The ITO has many subsidiary companies, including Anderon Ballistics, Tekron Labs, and Simple Machines Facilities. Many believe that the ITO's intentions are for the interest of the company itself and not for the world around them, however their actions have proven opposite. They have funded the creation of many comfortable shelters for the homeless, as well as given them jobs within their own ranks. The ITO has also funded the restoration of many monuments and cities, and are usually first to contribute towards disaster aid when a natural disaster strikes. Even so, the Order Church dislikes their focus on economic development, as well as their idea that worldly possessions are the path to true happiness.

The ITO are often called upon to assist in the growth of Section 2-501, whom they heavily support. Section 2-501 has also assisted in helping their economic status grow, placing many orders for their services. They aren't fairly well-known, mainly working behind-the-scenes for many companies, but their most important client is Section 2-501. Often they run campaigns promoting Section 2-501, sometimes to combat those of the Australia Federal Executive Council and the Order Church, the latter of whom they rival.

The Lindus Academy Schools of Warfare

Note: Lindus Academy has its own full
documentation, which can be found here.

The Schools of Lindus Academy, founded secretly by the ITO in 1976 but now growing in global prominence, is a collection of schools scattered across the world. It trains students ranging from children to adults in many optional courses, as well as mandatory school courses like math and English (albiet at a much faster rate than your average school), but its primary course, which all of its students are trained in, is combat. Those who graduate from Lindus Academy with combat training are better-accepted into law enforcement and armed forces than any other school. Lindus Academy offers many courses, including tactics, weapon operation, and law enforcement in countries around the world. Many of the 20th century's most revered officers graduated from Lindus Academy.

The Lindus Academy plays a small role in Section 2-501's growth. A large number of teachers are transferred over to the 2-501 campus, but training is done much faster than the actual Academy courses; certain students only recieve combat training, whereas others may get tactics, but other than those two classes, there is little else being taught.
