It’s the year 1928. The current time is 2:35 in the morning, in Brooklyn, New York. Parked outside in the rain is a car. Inside that car sleeps 16 year old Rosette Christopher of the Magdalene Order, and her assistant and friend, Chrono.

Chrono’s sleep is interrupted by the telephone. He realizes that it could only be Sister Kate, head of the Magdalene Order, calling at this hour. He does not dare answer the phone; he realizes it’s for the best that Rosette answers it. So therefore he wakes her up.

When she answers Sister Kate yells at her and tells her that she was too slow in answering the phone. Or, more simply, "OSOYOU!!". Sister Kate then promptly proceeds to tell Rosette about a disturbance in downtown New York. It appears that a devil has taken some people hostage at a restaurant, and it’s up to Chrono and Rosette to defeat the devil.

Rosette starts the car and barrels down the Brooklyn Bridge to the location. Along the way she asks Chrono why Sister Kate is always angry. Chrono then tells her it is because Rosette is always doing something to make Sister Kate angry. Talk about being blunt. Rosette is angered, she floors it, and seconds before she arrives at the scene she loses control of the car, spinning out and crashing into a nearby wall.

After this happens Rosette tries to open the car door but it seems that it’s jammed. She has to kick the door open instead.
Once this is done she notices a crowd of people gathering around the car. An elderly man asks her who she is and she explains that she is Rosette Christopher from the Magdalene Order, and that she is here to fight the devil.

The two run into the restaurant, and the old man--a deputy of the NYPD--questions their reliability. "I didn't know they'd be so awfully young," he comments.

Rosette and Chrono walk into the restaurant. They tread carefully, and Chrono mentions that he senses a sort of hunger... a hunger that's been fed. "That means the hostages might already be..." Rosette interrupts him, gesturing to move on. They reach a door, and Rosette recklessly rushes in and trips over an overturned table. Right next to a revolting sight: a mummified human body.

Rosette rushes upstairs, looks around... she walks to a door which opens by itself. Rosette and Chrono both walk through the door to see a bed, surrounded by candles and odd markings on the floor. Strange papers hang from the ceiling. "A Satanist. Just another rich man looking for some excitement in his own idle life." They walk up to the bed, thinking that he is lying down but it appears they were incorrect. Once Rosette removes the blanket they realize that no one is there, other than the mummified corpse of a sacrificed dog.

They then turn around to see a mutilated human chimera launching himself around the room. Rosette fires her pistol, each one missing its mark due to the possessed's incredible speeds. Rosette's gun clicks empty, and it pounces at Rosette.

Chrono quickly pulls out a glassine vial filled with water, opens it, and flings the water all over the chimera. Chrono manages to get some on himself, and it burns him.

After he does this the chimera falls to the ground, weakened. It attempts to stand up and launch himself at Rosette again, but she forces her gun into its mouth and fires a single shot. He is thrown to the ground, writhing. Something forces itself out of the once-human body. A devil.

He flings himself around, turns to Rosette, and prepares... but she's faster. She pulls her gun right up to his eye, and unloads an entire clip of Sacred bullets into his face.

The combined explosive power of each and every bullet becomes more powerful as they fill up inside the demon. Chrono yells at Rosette to stop shooting, and she finally notices that the devil's body has inflated to ginormous proportions, as if ready to...

The two immediately run out of the restaurant as fast as they can. They fling themselves out the front door into a gaggle of police officers waiting outside, and seconds later the restaurant explodes and collapses. All are thrown to the ground, covered completely in dust.

Chrono and Rosette are lying on the ground. Chrono picks himself up, gestures at Rosette, and points at the ruined restaurant. "You did it again, Rosette..."

She screams in horror, stares at the wreckage, and frantically yells "I didn't do it!"

Back at the Magdalene Order, Rosette is scolded by Sister Kate for destroying real estate. Sister Kate also mentions that this could have something to do with Rosette’s partner, Chrono. Rosette knows that this is probably another one of her personal potshots at Chrono, who happens to be a devil, those of whom Sister Rosette despises. Rosette stomps towards the door, but before she can escape the door opens and Minister Remington appears. After blushingly greeting him, Rosette makes a quick exit.

Meanwhile, three young nuns approach Chrono, who is sitting alone at a fountain, bringing up the disaster of a mission. But the feminine, child-like nuns enjoy themselves more by gossiping about the mission and making up details rather than concentrating on facts, for instance making up the possibility that Rosette destroyed a whole island. Rosette appears behind them; she has heard everything that had been said. She is quite angered by this but before she can have a chance to do anything about what had just happened the nuns run away.

Later on Rosette and Chrono are eating dinner. While she is eating her dinner, Rosette tells Chrono about her dream about her brother, Joshua, who disappeared four years ago. But then she notices that Elder, the man who creates the weapons for the Magdalene Order, is under the table and looking up her skirt. She kinda freaks out but when Elder tells her he wants her to try out a new bullet he has created, called the Gospel, trigger-happy Rosette gets quite excited. But before she can get the bullets, a nun tells Rosette that Sister Kate wants to see her.

After seeing Sister Kate, Rosette and Chrono go on another mission. This time they go to a bayside harbour.

When they get there, they notice that there is a survivor on the boat but before they can get to him, a devil appears behind him and smashes him with a massive hand. He disappears into the shadows again. After they see this, Rosette and Chrono board the boat. Rosette decides to look for the devil while Chrono goes to drive the boat further away from the harbour. He manages to start the boat, and it departs the port.

When Rosette does find the devil, she shoots at him madly; most of her bullets have no effect. She eventually runs out of ammunition, and is forced to flee with the devil hot on her tail.

Chrono, who had made it to the scene just in time, yells for Rosette to "catch this!", and throws her one of Elder’s new bullets. She jumps under the devil, between his legs, and grabs the bullet.

The devil then grabs her leg and drags her towards its mouth, but before he can do this Rosette loads the bullet and pulls the slider. She immediately says a prayer, aims the weapon, and fires. A massive convolution of holy energy, enveloped into a single orb, bursts out of her pistol and strikes the devil. It sucks him in, trembles, then promptly explodes with a burst of holy power, which dissapates into the shadows.

The boat trembles and shakes; there is a loud grinding noise. Rosette and Chrono have a look outside to see what happened, and they find out that the ship had crashed... right into Liberty Island. The bow of the ship is sticking inches away from the Statue of Liberty. Rosette then screams in furious anger. "IT'S NOT MY FAULT!!"
